Ronart Lightning

This two seater roadster is the Lightning from Ronart.

Powered by the superlative 4.6 litre V8 Mustang Cobra engine, the Lightning offers in excess of 320bhp with an option of a race tuned 440 bhp power plant for competition. This engine is the very latest specification quad cam, 32 valve and has one of the most advanced electronic injection systems to give stunning performance together with excellent fuel economy.

Ronart have designed a very strong chassis to cope with the demands of high power engines and tough roads. The use of CDS tubes (cold drawn seamless) with excellent triangulation allow the chassis to control suspension and engine forces. This design allows for ease of servicing and maintenance.

With the chassis looking after the mechanical side, the bodywork and roll cage take the roll of protecting the driver and passenger. A major factor in the design of the Lightning was the integral roll over bars featured above both the driver's and passenger's heads. Together with the side impact protection and the front roll over bars afford excellent protection.

Ronart have been developing the Lightning to feature the latest state-of-the-art Carbon Fibre technology. This Carbon fibre composite bodywork gives a very strong and lightweight body to complement the spaceframe chassis.

Powerful heater and ventilation system and air conditioning system together with electric windows, central locking and security system are all features found in such high quality sports cars.

For excellent road handling and performance the suspension and steering are of paramount importance. Harvey Bailey Engineering, well known for championship touring car tuning and whose work has also been for Ford, Aston Martin and TVR has been key in the steering/suspension geometry of the Lightning.

The suspension features all round fully independent wishbone suspension with fully adjustable coil-over shock absorbers. The rear drive unit has a limited slip differential and an option is the Hydratrak differential which in recent times has been so effective in racing.
